Example 10 (The Sacred Heart Church - Front Building)








Description
The Sacred Heart Church can be separated into two main buildings, one at the front, facing Avoca St, and one at the back, facing the other side. For the front building, no standard bond is used, the building was built with different kind of decorative bonds, may be a combination of Flemish bond with English bond. A lot of special cut of bricks are also in used.

Defects
Some bricks, for example, the arch bricks, were not cut well but filled with mortar instead. Therefore, it does not look much tidy.



Example 9 (The Sacred Heart Church - Front Building)










Description
The back building of the Sacred Heart Church was built with dark red / brown colour of bricks. It is much darker comparing to the front building. Moreover, some circular bricks were also used for the decoration or a little support for the building, which they formed shapes that looks really gorgeous. Besides, English garden wall bond was used for the brick walls.
